Division of Bands

Symphonic Band: This band the "foundation of the band program" provides an opportunity for students to continue instrumental development at an intermediate/advanced level. This band will perform as a part of the total band program at all designated assemblies, contests, concerts, district and state festivals. Time will be required outside of class for rehearsals, trips, and other engagements. 

Marching Band: This band performs at all home and away football games.  The marching band is the central feature of the band program with many performances at parades, competitions and exhibitions around and outside of North Carolina with audiences in the thousands.

Jazz Band: This band engages in the professional level study of all genres of jazz literature important to contemporary performing practices.  This band will perform as a part of the total band program at all designated assemblies, community events, contests, concerts, and festivals. Time will be required outside of class for rehearsals, trips, and other engagements.

Pep Band: A basketball pep band and spirit group selected by audition.  The band performs at men’s and women’s home games, tournaments and selected community activities.
